24 Affinity Designer – HSL Color Wheel

In this Affinity Designer beginner tutorial I’ll show you how to create HSL Color wheel in Affinity Designer 1.6.0.

We will use different shapes, the Fill Tool and the Transparency Tool.

Create a new document 00:25
Turn on the snapping guides 01:10
Draw a circle 01:16
Convert the circle to a donut 01:30
Add a conical gradient to the donut 01:49
Edit the gradient (stops, colors) 02:00
Simple way with rainbow style 07:00
Draw an equilateral triangle with the Polygon Tool 07:36
Add a black and white linear gradient to the triangle 09:09
Duplicate the triangle add delete the fill color 09:59
Add a fill color to the triangle 10:30
Add a transprency to the triangle 11:14
Correct the gradient 11:44
Draw a background with the Rectangle Tool 12:12
Duplicate the rectangle 12:43
Fill the rectangle with black and reduce the opacity 12:45
Add more depth with an outer shadow from the Effects Panel 13:00

The tutorial was created with Affinity Designer 1.6.0 and recorded and edited with Camtasia: mac 3.1.2.
