In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to draw simple snowflakes or stars with the Duplicate tool in Affinity Designer 1.5.4. In principle, only a prong or tip of the flake or the star is drawn and subsequently duplicated and rotated several times.
Duplicate tool
With the Duplicate tool, which is not a tool in the toolbar, an object can not only be duplicated, you can also transform and rotate the object during the duplication.
The Duplicate tool is called with the keyboard shortcut ⌘ + J.
